CELEBRATING 21 YEARS: 1996-2017

Cooper Brouard might have been a new

estate agency, when it opened its doors

on 5th August 1996, but the people

behind it were already established in the

property market.

Matt Brouard brought ten years’ experience at Guernsey’s longest

serving estate agency to his new company, having also worked

previously in the travel industry. Trevor Cooper had been a

conveyancing clerk in Court Row for twelve years and worked at

another estate agency before that, liking to remind people that three

bedroom houses on a new estate then cost £29,500.

Ross Le Marquand was the third founding partner who had

specialised in Open Market properties for many years before

opening Cooper Brouard’s dedicated Open Market department, the

burgeoning trend for shorter company logos behind the strategy not

to add Ross’s name over the door.

Cooper Brouard’s USP was wise heads with new ideas continually

embracing the technology that has revolutionised the property

industry. House particulars were printed with colour photographs,

when black and white photocopies were the norm, and 1999 saw the

company launch Guernsey’s first Estate Agency website

www.cooperbrouard.com

, now in its fifth generation.
